We are well aware of the design and cost restraints that are placed on building owners / developers and would like to assist you with your proposed development projects. We have a number of client’s that we have completed projects for in the past were our costing information and suggested changes to designed elements and details have enable the projects to meet budget requirements allowing them to be built. The Landscape Architecture Building is an example of this.

Higgs Construction are currently seeking Qualified Carpenters to join our Christchurch based commercial construction team on a full time bases the primary role will be working as a carpenter on new commercial projects or internal fitouts.

To be successful you will need:
• To be a fully qualified carpenter.
• Experience in Commercial Construction to carry out a range of tasks from set out to finishing works.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Comply with Higgs Construction Health and Safety and drug and Alcohol Policies.
• Fit and capable of manual heavy lifting
• Be reliable, driven and highly motivated.

ON TARGET – TOWER CRANE TO COME DOWN

In the first week of November the tower crane at St Georges Hospital will be removed. This is an important milestone for the project signaling the completion is on target for the later part of 2020.
Following the removal of the tower crane the final elements of the building envelope will be enclosed allowing the fitout of the Cressy Wing to continue through to completion.
The Cressy Wing is the third stage of the three stage $120 million building redevelopment at St Georges Hospital.

The new building is been completed in two stages with the first stage, the Clinical Services Wing being completed two years prior allowing Pacific Radiology and other departments to occupy.
Following occupation a fifteen month enabling phase was undertaken allowing the Cressy Wing construction to commence.
The Cressy Wing connects to the previously completed Stage 1 works, the new Main Entry Building off Heaton Street. The redevelopment connects the all of the buildings including the Canon Wilford Wing which Higgs Construction constructed some years ago.
