A self built passive style house, nestled in the trees on Scroggs hill. The clients climbed a mountain creating a warm and charming, eco friendly, self sufficient place to live.

We recently had the chance to see the house two years on and snapped a few photos. No fancy set dressing, this is now a two year old kitchen that at the time, represent a milestone for us in terms of scope, which now seems like no big deal at all. Still a favourite!

Pretty close! Lots of back and forth on colours here. Stick to three species of timber or fewer would be my advice 😅 The dawn/dusk sunlight is when it really hits. More to come.

Current happenings; an Intrigueing and delightful blend of elements. The tree wood has already lived a full life in the old kitchen. May it endure many more centuries yet🌳

Been cooking up a few neat things this year. I love the way the morning sun hits in the workshop up here in North East valley. It's an unremarkable composition, but it showcases the satin finished birch plywood so nicely.

There will be more to show of this particular project for some good folks of North Dunedin.

I want to once again thank you all for tagging along with me on this wild ride. I am extremely humbled to have been afforded the opportunity to produce such wonderful and unique pieces of built in furniture and am excited to share even more great things yet to come 🌳

One more cheeky vanity before the holidays.

American white Ash panels (a staple around here, I'm running out of this lovely tree! 🌳) and some marble on top.

This time around, I've used birch plywood for the cabinet. I will continue to do so unless instructed otherwise as it is lovely stuff and more suitable for wet areas than mdf.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us in any way at all this year. Even just viewing these posts is a boon.

Something highly unusual for us; a simple gloss white kitchen. There's a certain elegance to the wide appeal and unintrusiveness of it when using high-quality materials and a user-friendly layout with copious storage.
