This documentary film is really inspiring. Building a house which feeds people and has zero waste in the urban area of Melbourne. It's up lifting and made me feel like trying something similar 😀 ( You can watch it on Tue 6 at 11.15am, Fri 9 at 12.15pm at Rialto Dunedin ) He's on TED talk as well.

This was something I've been longing to do at my garden. Agapanthas out. I won't miss them coz there are more across the road. Some bricks came lose..

Good to know!!

What do you do when you cut yourself whilst gardening? I have my go-to patch of yarrow and sorrel. Yarrow helps stem blood flow so I chew it up and put it on the wound. Then I pick a sorrel leaf to use as a bandage. You can also use plantain or dock. Finally I tie it on with a strip of harakeke (flax). No band aid purchases necessary. No waste or pollution. 100% biodegradable. And the greatest feeling of self sufficiency. What natural first aid resources do you use?

This is my first try to grow tomatoes in Dunedin. Having a wee experiment to find out where is the best position for them.

Snow in summer is a great ground cover. It's perennial and the silverly leaves stay during winter. Super hardy. I love it because it reminds me of my mum's garden.
