🫘 DID YOU KNOW 🫘
You may have thought I was weirdo with my story poll asking yes/no to Broad beans 🤦🏼♀️
BUT!!! Did you know…… Broad beans are one of the easiest ways to improve soil health over the cooler months.
🌱 As they grow, their roots work with natural soil bacteria to fix nitrogen from the air and store it in the soil — feeding future crops without needing added fertiliser.
But it’s not just nutrients.
Their root systems help open up the soil, improving structure, drainage, and airflow. When left in the ground, those roots break down and become organic matter — feeding the microbes that keep soil alive.
Instead of leaving beds bare over winter, beans keep the soil covered, active, and protected from weather and nutrient loss.
It’s a simple way to build better soil now, so everything you plant later has a stronger start 🌱💚
🔑 So whether you like to eat them, or not, you’ll learn to love them with the key benefits they provide to your soil! 😍
❤️ Put some love back into your garden over the cooler months and watch it give back over the warmer months!!!
