One of my most memorable projects was working on the America's Cup race yacht NZL 32, also known as Black Magic. It won the America's Cup in 1995 and 2000. I had the privilege of working closely with Sir Peter Blake and his team during its construction at McMullen & Wing in Auckland.

As this year comes to a close, I am grateful for the opportunity to work on various projects during my joinery journey, including super yachts, boats, caravans, buses, churches, monasteries, residential, and commercial projects.

Looking ahead to 2024, as I approach my mid-70s and retirement, I have decided to slow down and focus on bespoke residential and commercial projects. This includes designing kitchens, furniture, cabinetry, laundry spaces, walk-in wardrobes, bathrooms, and windows & doors.

I want to express my gratitude to all my past and new customers for their support over the years. It's time for me to take a step back and enjoy a slower pace.

I think this will be my last major boat project as I'm getting older. I built this boat for Profab Engineering in Palmerston North.

The interior is made of marine ply covered with Italian Poplar veneer, which is dyed to ensure consistent color in all the cabins.

To protect and enhance the surfaces, I applied at least 5 coats of hardened Lacquer.

I’ll only be working on smaller boat projects now.
