One of our jobs this week was a reduction on a big 110 year old Oak. Recently a couple of large branches had broken in the tree.
We tidied up the damage and pruned back the end weight of all the branches to reduce the risk of future failure.

Good management of veteran trees helps ensure that people will be able to enjoy them for many more years to come.

Thinning out a heavy fruiting is an important part of fruit tree maintenance. It not only gives space for fruit to develop to their full potential, the reduced weight means less chance of broken branches.
