These comments give us the warm fuzzies…

A few months back Flooring Xtra hosted its’ ever-popular Fix My Ugly Floor Competition which was won by a lucky Papamoa lady. Nevertheless, we set out at a local level to discover a deserving winner of our own.

That winner was a delightful elderly lady of 79 years from Hokitika who had some recent health difficulties. She was entered by her fantastically supportive daughter-in-law who was worried her floor was a trip hazard and felt it would be “a dream come true indeed” for her to have a chance to win a safe, hygienic and beautiful floor.

Very house-proud and perhaps a little overwhelmed by it all, she had every right to be a bit apprehensive, but after some reassurance, she let us go ahead and complete a makeover of her wee home transforming it into a warmer and safer space for her to enjoy.

Thank you ladies; it’s obvious you’re both happy to see the ‘Map of Australia’ gone that we all joked about, but truly the privilege on this occasion was all ours.😊
