The munching mob of sheep have departed for greener pastures, and our powerful vineyard mulching mower has dealt to the rather large tufts of straw they were never going to eat.

A final pass with the small Massey Ferguson breaks everything down nicely over winter, allowing the old pasture grasses and perennials to leap evenly back into life come spring.

The large lime green plant, Persicaria orientalis - an annual - with the irresistible common name of ‘Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate’ was an impulsive spring addition from Kate Aston at Seaflowers Nursery and has not yet fully shown us her highly anticipated splendours of weeping showers of red pink.
