We're incredibly proud to announce that Richard Mauriohooho FNZIA was recently awarded Fellowship of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects – one of the profession's highest honours.
Richard has been with PAUA for 28 years. His architecture is rooted in place, people, and tikanga – a body of work that has earned the trust and respect of Waikato-Tainui communities, marae, and institutions alike. From the Cambridge Police Hub to the Whare Ako at Hamilton Boys' High School, his buildings carry cultural meaning embedded in their form, not just their surfaces.
Beyond the award-winning projects, Richard has spent years helping marae navigate funding, regulation, and planning, as an expression of genuine service to his community.
Ngā mihi nui, Richard. This recognition is richly deserved.
