APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR CHALLENGE 👷

We’re excited to announce that our apprentice, Hayden, will be taking part in the Waikato Regional Practical Challenge for the New Zealand Apprentice of the Year competition!

The challenge brings together some of the Waikato’s top apprentices, putting their skills, craftsmanship, and problem-solving abilities to the test in a live practical competition.

Builder by day, car dealer by night... meet Andre!

With 4 years of experience under his belt, Andre is one of our talented apprentices who’s always keen to get stuck in and learn something new on site. 🔨

When the workday’s done, he’s either wheeling and dealing cars, searching for hidden gems at the thrift store, or getting a pump in the gym 💪

And when he’s not doing any of that? He’s busy being a proud dad to his 3-year-old son.

With 6 years of building experience, Jay is a valued part of the Apex Construction team, bringing quality craftsmanship and a strong work ethic to every project he’s involved in.

Outside of work, Jay’s all about jet ski fishing — recently taking out the title of 2025 Apex Fishing Competition Champion 🎣🏆

And if he’s not on site or out on the water, you’ll probably find him spending his weekends working on renovation projects of his own.

We’re after someone who:
✔️ Has 5+ years building experience
✔️ Has previous supervisory experience
✔️ Understands renovations and has the ability to think on their feet
✔️ Leads by example and takes pride in quality workmanship

The team at Apex Construction is sad to say goodbye to Courtenay after 5 incredible years with us.

Originally joining us as a project Manager, Courtenay quickly became so much more — helping streamline our admin, leading our rebrand, building our social media presence, and being the friendly first point of contact for hundreds of our amazing clients.

Her energy, ideas, and dedication have played a huge role in shaping our business into what it is today. She’ll be hugely missed by the whole team.

We wish her all the very best as she focuses on building her own business 🚀
