Oh, what a show! 🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸 Thank you to all our exhibitors and visitors, it was such a beautiful day, with such beautiful flowers🌼🌸🌼 Well done to those who gave it a go for the first time, and to those who traveled a fair way to join our show, we couldn't do this without you🌸🌼🌸

There is a great deal of work that goes into putting on a show like this, so the biggest thank you goes to the stellar committee and impromptu helpers, you are all stars🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼

And for those who came away feeling inspired, our tuber sale is in October so keep an eye out for more info closer to the time😊

🌸🌸HOW TO EXHIBIT YOUR BLOOMS🌸🌸

😊Just turn up 😊

🌸Bring your Dahlia blooms to Taradale High School Hall on either Friday 20th Feb between 5:30 - 8:30pm or Saturday 21st Feb 6:00-9:00am
🌸 On arrival register to get your exhibitors code (no fee) and collect some green vases
🌸 Stage your blooms in the vases using wet newspaper to secure the stems and place them in the appropriate category display as per the show schedule

Some tips:
🌸Bring along newspaper, secateurs and a craft knife
🌸Cut the stems as long as possible and secure them carefully for travel as the blooms bruise easily
🌸If this is your first time exhibiting, ask for assistance from a committee member😊

🌸🌸🌸WHAT🌸A🌸SHOW🌸🌸🌸
Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Hawke's Bay and we were simply amazed at the turn out to our Dahlia Show!
🌸We had an incredible 39 exhibitors and there was some stiff competition that had our judges working hard😅🌸
🌸Thank you to all those who came along to have a look and enjoy these gorgeous blooms, and thank you to all our exhibitors, those who traveled from afar, and those gave it a go for the first time, we wouldn't have a show without you! 🌸
🌸A biiiig THANK YOU goes out to our small but mighty committee, they are all exhausted today after the massive task of setting up and taking down all the tables etc, and all the other behind the scenes jobs that make the show a success. The turn out yesterday makes it all worth it😍🌸
🌸 Congratulations to all our winners, but to all our exhibitors, we look forward to seeing you and anyone else who has been inspired to give it a go next year!🌸

The hall will be open for staging of blooms from5-7pm on Friday and 6-9:45am on Saturday and there will be committee members present to help if you are new to this. Ensure you come early as it can get very busy the closer it gets to judging😅
🌸🌸Kid's corners🌸🌸 we invite all children to bring their blooms too for the new Kid's Corner section of the show!

We had a fantastic tuber sale this past weekend with the excitement for the upcoming season matching the concern of our members as to where we're all going to find enough space to plant all the extra beauties we walked away with😅
We still have extra exhibition quality tubers needing a home so for the next two weeks we will be selling bundles of 5 tubers (mixed variety) for $10.

It's that time of year again, Dahlia season is just about ready to kick off 🌸💕🌸💕 Whether you left them in the ground, or lifted, divided and stored them, soon these potato-like tubers will start sprouting to life🌱
The annual Hawke's Bay Dahlia Circle tuber sale will take place:
Saturday 19th October 9am-12pm at 13 Alamein Crescent, Onekawa
$5 per tuber, buy 4 get 1 free
This is a members only event but you are welcome to register with us on the day for $15 (annual fee).
