I have just had a new rep from a paint company tell me in the 20 years he has been in his job he has never seen a van set up like mine. Really?!! I haven’t even finished it yet, surely if you’re spending most of you’re day/week/month etc in/using it becomes your second home and it needs to work with you not against you. I’ve only had a/the van for 2 months, come to think of it I’ve only been driving for 3 years - hahahahaha

Well what an end to the year of 2018!!!

Since moving over to New Zealand in 2016 I have been an employee as a painter. It was always a plan of mine to start up on my own over here but I needed to be patient whilst waiting for my residency application to be approved (thankfully it was 😜) along with the plans my partner and I had made for our future. Unfortunately my patience was worn thin and my stress levels were running extremely high as an employee so I decided enough was enough and I quit my day job, a little earlier than planned yet I only wish I’d made my move sooner. Since then (September 2018) I have become a fully insured and registered Limited company and the workload has just snowballed and 2019 is looking healthy. What’s more is that I now enjoy my job again, going back to being a professional painter and decorator and taking on the new challenges of owning my own company.

Thanks for all the support and opportunities from my friends, family and new clientele so far . . .

One very lucky/happy tradesman today. Summer is at last here (for now anyway) lunch/roll made by my partner this morning...

One very lucky/happy tradesman today. Summer is at last here (for now anyway) lunch/roll made by my partner this morning, fresh baked shortbread, ice block, glass of ice water and beer (citrus/low alcohol) given to me by my client. Happy days ;-)

Busy few days working on the new Zeffer Cider home, gorgeous weather, the smell of cider brewing and the bonus of a mixed box of Zeffer cider given to us at the end of the job. Im not going say too much yet or show you the photos of the end result as its a surprise for the grand opening on 20th Oct 2018. What I will say is the Zeffer crew are the proud new owners of a stylish new bar, finished to a high standard using nothing but the best products to ensure a crisp finish with that warm rustic country feel that complements the award winning cider that will soon be brewed and more importantly 'consumed' here :-P

Big thanks to Complete Paints for sourcing and suppling the awesome Osmo UK Poly-X Oil. I used this product heaps back in the UK, its a quality product that is highly durable and produces stunning results, a 'must use' product on the beautiful timbers of NZ.
