I’ve absolutely loved bringing this window to life for the Hapori Hub. It's definitely worth popping down and checking it out in person!
This window was inspired by South Taranaki framed in botanicals and woven with the spirit of community.
You’ll spot so many local icons in the mural: Taranaki maunga, the Hāwera water tower, Highway 45, rolling farmland, cows, loaves of bread, ocean swirls, and flax weaving throughout the design. Each element connects back to the kaupapa of the space.
At the centre of it all is the beautiful whakataukī:
“Whiria te tangata – weave the people together.”
A reminder of unity, connection, and the strength of community.
Surrounding the artwork are the values that shape Hapori Hub:
Mauri ora, Aroha, Whanaungatanga, Rangatiratanga, and Manaakitanga.
I can’t wait for this space to open and for the community to experience it.
Stay tuned so much goodness is on the way!!
