Hoya Bella propagating tips 🥰

So excited to share how to propagate this beautiful plant as it was the first plant I ever did cuttings off which then started Kate's Cuttings 5 years ago when I was stuck at home with my first baby 💗🍀

Methods 💗

🌿 Get some clean scissors and cut a healthy looking stem with atleast 4 to 8 leaves on it.

🌿Water method
Remove a few leaves from the bottom of the stem and place the cutting in a glass cup with water. Make sure no leaves are submerged as this can cause fungi diseases.

Place it in a warm sunny spot with no direct sunlight and change the water every couple of days. It does take a looong time to root maybe 1-3months this way.

Once it has a good root system pot it up into some good draining potting mix.

🍀Moss or Fern fiber method

This is by far the fastest way to propagate.
Place your cutting in Moss or Fern fiber and put them in a warm humid sunny spot.A plastic container with lid works best.Keep the medium mosit and once you can see loads of roots takes about 2-4weeks its ready to be potted up 💗

The warmer the spot the faster it will grow roots.
No cuttings can handle direct sunlight and need extra love just like a human baby 🤱

Watering tips ✨️

💦 Don't follow a schedule

I never follow a watering schedule and base it all on what the weather is doing and how the plant is looking. If it's a wet week I barely water compared to a hot sunny week it's every 2-3 days in Summer 🌵

💦 Use a Spray bottle

I water all my plants with a spray bottle so I have better control over how much water I'm giving them plus it's great for plant feeding too ✨️

💦 Know your variety

Every plant variety has different needs when it comes to soil moisture.
Succulents and Cactus like it dry.
Caladium, Baby tears and Elephant ears like a nice damp soil 🌵

💦 Don't over water

Always try dry out the soil in-between watering and never let a plant sit in water as it can lead to root rot. A nice free draining soil is key for root health 🌱

💦 Feel the weight

If your unsure on if your plants are thristy pick up the pot and feel if it's light 🌱 A good way to check as well is placing your finger a couple of cms in the soil 🤙
