The big effort of lifting all the dahlias has begun! The tubers are looking great and I'm in the process of cleaning them all off, checking for disease and storing them for the winter.

There's such a huge temptation to start selling them now as there's lovely clear eyes on the tubers thanks to the warm weather, but we want to make sure they survive the winter storage so I will wait until spring before I put them on the website!

It's sad cutting them all back for the winter but exciting to see the new tuber growth and be able to split them and share the dahlia love around 😍

Welcome to my page! My garden/soap business/full time job/two children have kept me very busy over the summer so this page has been neglected a tad!
The dahlias are starting to slow but are still producing stunning blooms. I'm hoping to get a few more weeks before the inevitable frosts, but then I will be digging and dividing the tubers and putting them up for sale on my website herriotcottage.co.nz

Some stunners from my garden this year...
Cafe au Lait Royal- a pinkier version of the forever favourite Cafe au Lait
Creme de Cognac- the earlier blooms were a pinkier orange with the signature dark orange petal backs, this was a prolific bloomer
Penhill Dark Monarch- those colours though 😍
Moorplace- the cutest wee button dahlia with tight, dark petals

I’m loving the orangey peach tones of Fairway Spur, the speckles of Strawberry Cream and the simplicity of Petra’s Wedding.
