Kauri Park Projects works with private landowners across New Zealand to deliver ecological planting across a range of projects, from retiring unproductive farmland to delivering native planting for rural subdivision consents.

Every project is managed in-house by our team who understands the full process, from species selection and plant supply through to installation, long-term maintenance and aftercare. Our work is fully compliant with consenting requirements and coordinated with councils, providing landowners with confidence that their planting will be delivered to the highest standard required for council sign-off.

Three private landowners in the Ness Valley, Clevedon, each needed ecological planting to protect the riparian catchment within their boundaries and meet Auckland Council consenting requirements for rural subdivision.

Kauri Park Projects delivered end-to-end project management across all three sites, covering fencing, site preparation, plant supply, installation, and maintenance. On one of the plantings, 350 metres of 8-wire fencing was installed ahead of planting to keep livestock out, with 120,000 plants established across that site alone. Species were supplied in line with ecologist-developed restoration plans for each property.

The three plantings established over 176,000 plants across the Ness Valley, protecting the riparian catchment across all three properties and enabling the landowners to obtain resource consent and progress subdivision of their rural lots.

Happy World Bee Day 🐝

Pollinators like bees are a critical part of healthy ecosystems, supporting native plants and biodiversity. But habitat loss is putting real pressure on their populations.

It's one of the reasons ecological restoration is so important. By planting a diverse range of native species, we’re proud to help create environments where pollinators can thrive.

Southern Gateway is a large commercial development at the entrance to Auckland Airport, designed as both a business precinct and an ecologically integrated landscape.

Kauri Park Projects was responsible for all planting across the site. Works included establishment of a large wetland bowl with native wetland species and specimen trees, preparation and planting of offset wetland pond areas, and street tree planting throughout the development. Dense w**d cover across the pond areas was mechanically mulched ahead of planting operations.

Over 75,000 native plants have been installed across the site, integrating large-scale ecological planting throughout a major commercial development at the gateway to Auckland.

We're proud to support our local communities.

Recently, we donated native trees and shrubs to schools in Maungaturoto and Devonport, helping create green spaces where children can connect with the natural environment.

It's an important part of what we do, growing a future for New Zealand.

Regenerating forest ecosystems are where restoration begins.

They form after disturbance such as fire, volcanic activity, pine removal, or on retired farmland. These areas are the first stage in the transition toward mature forest. Pioneer species establish first, stabilising soil and providing cover for what comes next.

At Kauri Park, these processes inform how we grow and supply plants. Matching species to site conditions and stage of regeneration is critical to getting establishment right. A healthy ecosystem starts with the right combination of plants.

Happy Earth Day.

At Kauri Park, every plant we grow is part of something bigger… rebuilding ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and supporting the land for future generations.

Our plants are on a mission. Today and every day.

Steep ridgeline country in the Kaipara Hills presented a clear access challenge. Slopes too extreme for on-site plant transport using side-by-sides meant a different approach was needed to get 185,000 plants in the ground.

Kauri Park Projects worked with a local aerial team to helicopter one-tonne bags of plant stock to pre-marked locations across the property. The planting was delivered in partnership with Green Team Kaipara, one of the largest iwi planting teams in New Zealand, with deep local knowledge.

The project forms part of the Kaipara Moana Remediation programme, retiring pastoral hillsides at Tamata Hills and returning them to native bush, and using large-scale planting to address long-term sediment and erosion issues.
