Nevill Webb Welldrilling are specialist Water Well Drilling Engineers, installing water supplies for cities, farms, gardens, irrigation, industrial and household use. We have been providing excellent drilling and boring services since 1949, and pride ourselves on the delivery of quality results.
The Drillers Assistant has two key responsibilities. The first is planning for the tasks of the day and ensuring all the necessary supplies and equipment will be taken to the site. The second is supporting the Rig Operator with drilling procedures on site, while maintaining high Health & Safety standards and looking after our specialist equipment. You will be expected to have an ability and desire to follow specific instructions, systems and procedures, accurately record both daily operations and associated documentation requirements.
What you will need to be successful:
- Be physically fit & healthy and enjoy working outdoors
- Have a drug free record and able to pass regular screening
- Have a minimum of full Class 1 drivers licence or higher (please do not apply without a full licence)
- Be self-motivated with a positive attitude and prepared to learn and upskill
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Have the ability to keep clean and tidy surroundings
- Have a willingness to deliver quality results in all aspects and levels of operation
Skills that would be advantageous, but not essential:
- Welding and/or engineering experience
- Mechanical knowledge/understanding
Remuneration will be based on skill, experience and attitude. For the right person, this position could lead into becoming a Drilling Rig Operator, and becoming a Registered or Apprenticeship to become a Qualified Driller.
