Visit The Vivian this weekend - Open Sat and Sun 11am to 5pm. Come and see the fabulous series of ceramic heads by the legendary Matakana potter and artist - Anthony Morris. This is some of Ant's most recent work. They are quite astonishing in person. Full of movement and making marks, with a variety of clay slips and glazes.

Please join us at The Vivian in Matakana from 4-6pm on Saturday 8th September for a special community celebration to mark the opening of an inspirational show of work by legendary Matakana potter Anthony Morris.

This journey began with a small created by Elizabeth McClure for Morris and James last year. But we felt the work was of such significance to the history of New Zealand arts and crafts, that it deserved a place in The Vivian exhibition calendar. The title reflects a recent birthday by Ant, who at 80-year's old, is still practicing his craft in his studio – and never seems to tire.

Whilst Ant is enjoying a well earned sojourn in Europe there will be no Open Studio in August. However we are rather excited for his upcoming solo show at The Vivian Gallery, Matakana from September 8th. Watch this space for more postings of details for the show, it's going to be incredible!

Come along Today! - Sat 2nd June - to Ant's Open Studio - 'Faces' is a small exhibition. A wonderful opportunity to purchase works in Glass, ceramics, water colour painting and acrylic painting. At Morris & James - follow the signs in the carpark to Ant's Studio, at the rear of Morris & James. Free car parking and onsite cafe.
