Before and after - a flood in this new build created some lacquer delamination on the edges of these boards in the laundry area.

The idea was floated to rip out a section of the floor and replace, but i thought we could repair the issue by scraping back the damaged finish, and applying a few coats of tinted polyurethane to repair the unsightly lines.

Turned out mint.

Minimal interruption to the customer and a great result. Just needed a bit of practice with the old art brush!

Reflecting on the year I realise we’ve done a huge amount of learning and growing, both as a business and personally. Thanks to anyone that cared enough to leave a comment, drop a like, or just be interested in what we do and what I’ve worked so hard to build here at Abstract Timber Floors.

This year we hit some cool milestones, gained some new clients, completed some truely amazing projects, started more epic projects, grew the team (.farm) added some new vehicles and toys to stay at the top of our game, moved into a new warehouse, went on a couple podcasts, travelled internationally to visit suppliers and awards evenings, developed our own cleaning product line and side brand, and also took time away from the business to recharge and spend time with family.

Business is hard, entrepreneurship is a grind, but I wouldnt swap it for anything - here’s to all the other business owners and parents out there creating something from nothing - I see you.

Bring on 2026, I feel it’s going to be a pivotal year.

Oh and if you don’t follow - go show some love - we have some amazing stuff cooking.
