Company Mission;

To create simple, bold designs using sound aesthetic & practical principles, in order to maximise site potential, improve our built environment & achieve client satisfaction. Design Philosophy;

With experience comes an understanding of the need for simplicity of structure, which leads to a simplicity of form & the use of proven materials. Balance, proportion, scale & context are all carefully considered in design. Our style structures are designed to be non-competing with their environment, yet bold enough to distinguish them as being inspired by it.

Sunbrae Groove - The Pool

So wonderful to see this project with its final finishes completed. A testament to the collaboration of design team and clients driving visions. Proving smaller sites and spaces can deliver sophisticated properties.

Celebrating moments of texture and tone.

A new chapter is rising in Mt Maunganui…

Building Consent is officially inbound for our newest architecturally designed townhouse — a home shaped by its surroundings, engineered for its challenges, and crafted for true Mount lifestyle living.

But this one didn’t start easy...

A tight site.
Flood-zone and foundation constraints.
Hard up against neighbouring boundaries.
Big ambition.

Instead of compromising, we leaned in...

We engineered it to meet flood requirements without sacrificing form.
We designed right to the edges - yet created spaces that feel open, light-filled, and private.
We wrapped it in robust, low-maintenance materials made to handle salt air and long coastal summers.
We optimised every square metre for sun, flow, and effortless indoor-outdoor living.

The result?

What began as one of our most technically constrained projects has become one of the most exciting. Proof that pressure doesn’t limit great design - it sharpens it.

Picture this...

Early morning light spilling into the living space.
Coffee in hand before a quick walk to the beach.
Surfboards stacked in the garage.
Warm evenings with doors wide open, the sea breeze drifting through.
A home that works hard behind the scenes - so life feels easy out front.

This is Mt Maunganui living, designed with intent.

Demolition day at our May Street Project.

For this process we chose to work alongside Hansen Recyclers.

Many of the materials coming out of this home will be recycled and repurposed. Old doesn’t mean unusable, in fact, some of the most durable, character-rich elements are the ones worth saving

May Street.

This iconic downtown Mount Maunganui site is the stage for our latest project.

Over the next 2 years we’ll be documenting the journey from the demolition and recycling process, to design and form foundations, to final details.

Reeded glass, also sometimes known as fluted or ribbed glass, is characterised by its distinctive linear pattern. Creates a textured effect that can obscure for privacy while still allowing light to pass through. Paired with stealth black textured timber jamb liners.

The last of our five ADNZ Resene Architectural Awards takes place in Cromwell tonight as we recognise and celebrate the talents from the Otago and Southland region. Thanks to everyone who entered projects or joined us in celebrating throughout the country. The outstanding entries reinforced the depth of skill and talent among the ADNZ members.

All winners of regional awards are finalists in the National ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards. The national winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 01 November in Rotorua.

On Friday 23 August the Regional 2024 ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards were announced in Hamilton, for the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Award winners. And what a night it was, with eleven amazing designers receiving awards.

Keryn Davis, CEO of Architectural Designers New Zealand said the Waikato and Bay of Plenty winners were an amazing bunch of designers who deserved all the accolades.

“It is truly inspiring to celebrate so many clever designers. The ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards are a very special time of year. It is our opportunity, as an industry, to come together and applaud all the hard mahi our designers put in every year to create a better Aotearoa – one where people live in warm, sustainable, perfectly designed spaces that will last a lifetime.”
