🕊️ Remembering Mike Kraus

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mike Kraus, a treasured former member of the AFC whānau.

Mike was a highly skilled and hardworking member of our team, remembered fondly for his dedication, good humour, and the significant contributions he made during his time with us. He gave his all and worked alongside us until he physically couldn’t continue — a true testament to his strength, grit and loyalty.

Our deepest thoughts and aroha go out to Lindy, the children, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with Mike.

Rest peacefully, Mike. Thank you for being part of our journey, both professionally and personally, and for inspiring us with your unwavering dedication and heart.

🚛 Built for the Long Haul – Mainfreight’s New Hawke’s Bay Depot Façade Nears Completion

We’re nearing the finish line on the façade install at Mainfreight’s newest Hawke’s Bay depot — and it’s shaping up to be a standout.

This facade build features:
🔹 AliClad V200 – A sleek aluminium shiplap weatherboard providing bold horizontal definition and proven durability.
🔹 ACM in Mainfreight Blue – A vibrant, UV-stable finish that delivers strong visual identity with precision and impact.

Big thanks to the AFC team for their hard mahi on site. We’re proud to back another major logistics player with a façade system that performs with the same pace, precision, and pride that Mainfreight brings to the freight game.

Just like their fleet, this façade is built to move fast, work hard, and look sharp doing it.

✨ Sharp Finish for a Smart New Build (because plain walls are so last year) ✨

Recently wrapped up at 1004 Karamu Road, Hastings — looking so sharp, it might start judging your outfit. This build went from blueprint to head-turner quicker than you can say “Where’s my hard hat?”

We dressed it in Alucobond cladding, custom cut and installed by the AFC crew, plus a sleek custom 3mm perforated aluminium screen for that extra bit of flair for a finish so sharp it practically needs its own Instagram filter.

Why Alucobond was the smart choice:
✔️ Lightweight yet durable – perfect for new construction
✔️ Superior flatness and rigidity for straight, clean lines
✔️ UV and weather resistant – ideal for Hawke’s Bay’s conditions
✔️ Low maintenance, long-term performance
✔️ Adds sharp visual appeal without overcomplicating the build

It’s a smaller job, but we took no shortcuts — just top-notch materials, solid skills, and a building that’s ready to impress.

New Project, New Product, Same Momentum

With our largest ACM project now successfully completed, we’re already preparing for the next divine challenge. 🙏

In July, we’ll be back on-site in Wellington, where we’ll be installing Piterak Slim — a premium terracotta rainscreen.

Proud to be partnering with L.T. McGuinness and Vorstermans Architects to deliver a façade that’s truly blessed with style and strength. ✨

🎉 Final Panels Fabricated for One Three Five Victoria! 🏗️🔧

The final ACM Induraplate panels for the One Three Five Victoria project are now complete, officially marking the end of the fabrication phase. Over 2,800 panels were produced for this landmark Wellington development — a major milestone achieved through consistent teamwork and precision.

Gavin & Tim led the final stretch in the workshop, applying their sharp eye for detail to bring this phase to a strong close. Their contribution reflects the dedication and craft that’s gone into every panel.

With fabrication wrapped, the non-combustible, high-performance ACM Induraplate cladding is now ready for installation — delivering both form and function to one of the city’s standout projects.

Great work to the full team involved.
