One of New Zealand’s most ambitious mass timber residential developments is now complete.

Overlooking the inner Te Awanui Tauranga Harbour, Arvida Bethlehem Shores, brings together care, apartments and shared spaces across five connected buildings. The building’s primary structure is formed from highly sustainable CLT (Cross Laminated Timber), supporting a low-impact build and long-term environmental performance.

Designed with longevity in mind, Bethlehem Shores prioritises durability, comfort and ease of use. Sustainability is carried throughout, with all apartments and care units designed to meet a 7 Homestar rating under the strengthened standards.
Constructed within an operational village, prefabrication reduced disruption on site while supporting a consistent, high-quality outcome.

Director Marc Barron will be speaking about the project at the Timber Delivered 2026 Seminar, alongside Darren Mitchell, Director at Structus Consulting.

Our warmest congratulations to the Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust on receiving a Te Kāhui Whaihanga, New Zealand Institute of Architects' President’s Award. We’ve had the privilege of partnering with this organisation, who are doing incredible work to address one of the region’s most urgent challenges – access to affordable, secure housing.

Pictured is Tewa Banks in Arrowtown, a standout example of the Trust’s leadership in delivering thoughtfully designed, high-performing homes for the local community.

Flow House received a Resene Colour Award at the Nelson/Marlborough NZIA Awards, celebrating a crafted, light-filled interior that evolves beautifully throughout the day. Designed to feel like a lived-in gallery, the palette lets light, art and materials do the talking.

Led by Diana Shchukin, Associate & Interior Designer at JTB Architects, who worked closely with the clients to understand what mattered most; bringing a sense of ease, warmth and individuality to the home.

We’re proud to announce that the Port Tarakohe Management and Amenities Building is a Winner in the Public Architecture category at the NZIA Nelson and Marlborough Architecture Awards.

Embedded within a working harbour shaped by trade, tides and cultural history, the project delivers a low-impact civic building with a strong connection to place.
