“Thanks for the quote, but my Uncle Bob reckons he can do it”
We’ve had a few different variations of the above over the years, often followed by a “Help! Uncle Bob f**ked it up!”
Tiling isn't rocketscience, but it's not just slapping tiles to a wall either.
You need 👇
🔸 The right tools ( which can be expensive and specialised)
🔸 Skill and experience to get lines straight and cuts perfect
🔸 Knowledge of how to measure an area to ensure the perfect layout
🔸Knowledge of different adhesives, grouts, cutting techniques, etc
The truth is, when DIY goes wrong, it often ends up costing *more* in the long run - pulling tiles off, in some cases fixing the torn wall or waterproofing, re-buying materials, and then paying a professional to fix it anyway!
Hiring a tiler isn’t just paying for labour.
It’s paying for:
✔ Years of skill
✔ The right equipment
✔ Peace of mind that the job will look great and last
Of course, there is a wealth of DIY information available, and there are some genuinely handy Uncle Bob’s out there … but maybe double-check before you hand over the trowel 😉
And if it all gets a bit much… we’re only a phone call away.
