9th June 2025 - Golden Nugget Squash don't keep as long as other squash so I'm promptly roasting them up with orange, honey and olive oil and s&p at 200degrees for about 50 mins until they start to caramelise a bit. Winter's not all bad !!

Well it's been a while since I've posted in my online diary. Sometimes life is just too busy and it's good to take a break from socials. I was just enjoying prepping home grown produce and thought it would be nice to document that I'm still enjoying last summer's pumpkins and that the brassicas planted before winter are starting to feed us too. I've been meaning to start off new pumpkin seedlings for this summer and it's a good reminder to get that done today !

June 24th 2024 - I harvested my kumara on Puanga and used the little scrappy bits that won't keep well in this roasted veg salad. From the garden I also used fennel and lemon in the tray bake and added lettuce, fennel fronds and parsley to the salad. The fennel and parsley are self seeded, kumara was a supermarket one that started to sprout so this lunch cost me a few cents worth of lettuce seed. Feeling very grateful for my māra kai
