The Fruity Gardener Nursery with a focus on edibles, subtropicals and natives We are a nursery in Omata, just on the outskirts of New Plymouth.

We focus on edibles, rare and interesting subtropicals, NZ native plants, hardy coastal hedging and so much more. We also offer edible landscaping and gardening services from consultancy and design right through to implementation and maintenance. The nursery can be visited outside of open hours only by appointment. Eftpos and contactless payment is available.

Avocado trees are in! I’m very happy with the quality this year. There’s some cool new varieties. Ettinger is a type B pollinator. Esther and Pinkerton are smaller growing trees. And there’s the classic Hass and Reed which still can’t be beaten for productivity. $60 each.
