We're very sorry to say that as of 22 December 2023, Bigwood Fencing will no longer be operating. We've had a blast over the last couple of years, worked on some epic projects, and met some amazing people!

Big thanks to Mallery and Charlie, our fab team, for keeping us in line. You both were a pleasure to work with, and we know you'll be a huge asset to future employers.

Thanks also to everyone who supported us in our endeavours. For now, it's time to lay down the tools and move on to a new challenge.

It was with extreme sadness that we heard of the sudden passing of the beautiful Maria Clement.

Not only was Maria our most valued mentor on the fencline, she was also a true wāhine toa serving as a LandSAR volunteer, team leader and advisor for over 40 years. Maria's skill, instruction and leadership in the bush helped endless young people (including this guy) to safely enjoy our backcountry. Maria was also one of the few female competitors in the early days of competitive fencing and was featured in the last FCANZ WIRED magazine. We're so glad the story of her fencing career was told as she really was an inspiration.

Jaime, Charlie, Mallery and I send all our aroha to Maria's partner, children and especially her grandchildren.

It was a different job for the boys yesterday on a Horowhenua Land Search and Rescue callout. We're pleased to report a happy outcome for all - and the team were back on the fenceline for the afternoon.
