See those pins above the springs? They're what we change when we 'rekey' your locks and save you money because we're not 'replacing the locks'. This video shows how those pins work.
These locks are 'in-line pin tumbler' locks and are very popular in NZ. If the lock itself is in good condition and serviceable, then often it's more cost-effective for you to have the lock rekeyed rather than swapped out for another lock.
We recommend having your locks rekeyed (or replaced) when you move into a new home, when keys have been lost or stolen, or similar situations.
A good locksmith will tell you whether a lock can be rekeyed, or if a replacement is needed.
