Concept design is the first drawing, but it's not supposed to be the final word. It's supposed to be tested.
Does the layout match how your household actually lives? Has everyone who needs to weigh in actually seen it? Are the hard questions being asked before anyone moves to the next stage?
Moving too fast from concept to documentation just locks in an untested design. The changes you make at concept cost a fraction of what they cost later.
