Our new lath house is getting a bit of international attention! 🤩

It's been shortlisted for the Small Project of the Year award at the World Architecture Festival 2026.

📍 If you haven't visited yet, pop into Victoria Esplanade and check it out. Inside you'll find tropical plants and Palmerston North's first public bonsai display.

It's open 10am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, and 12pm to 3.30pm on weekends and public holidays. Entry is free!

One more feather in the cap!

We're incredibly humbled that The Lath House has been also shortlisted as 1 of 7 best small projects in the world at the World Architecture Festival 2026.

A heartfelt thank you to WAF for recognising not just the architecture, but the regional context, community story, and values that shaped this little project.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Lath House—a collaboration between 242AM Architects and TEAM Architects —has been named a Finalist at the World Architecture Festival 2026! 🎉

What excites us most is the opportunity to put Manawatū and Palmerston North on the global architectural map.

This November, Monika and Agneesh will be presenting the project LIVE in Florida, proudly flying the flag for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Ground has officially been broken, the piles are now complete, and we’re nearly ready for the slab pour as this new 150 sqm home starts to take shape.

It will be an energy efficient, accessible, and budget friendly home built with volume and intentional connection to nature in and out of the building.

In the end the proof will be in the pudding - you can have a small section and build a nice house!

Tucked in, not taking over — just a simple, thoughtful design that sits comfortably alongside its neighbours.

Currently at Resource Consent, then it’s over to the owners... looking forward to seeing it come to life in the community!!!
