Susie attended the ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards Gala held in Dunedin on Friday 31 October. She was proud to be a National finalist in two categories, Resene Colour in design Awards and Commercial Interior and Fitouts for our work on the Palmerston North Crematorium. It was a fabulous event, following 2 busy conference days. Here are some photos of Susie accepting the finalist certificates. Congratulations to all winners.

This weekend is the opening of AllRoad Adventure with their new showroom and workshop. Inside they have many sparkly new motorcycles.

We are thrilled with how this simple warehouse structure has been transformed with some clever architectural detailing and clean lines. It is no longer just a box.

At the Architectural Designers New Zealand regional design awards we were thrilled to receive 2 Regional Awards and a Highly Commended for our work at Palmerston North City Council Crematorium.

Judges citations were :
HIGHLY COMMENDED AWARD FOR COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURE
The judges said: This crematorium integrates new architectural elements to improve functionality while maintaining a solemn and welcoming atmosphere. The design uses symmetry and repetition to create a respectful spatial sequence that guides visitors through transition and reflection. Gathering spaces are carefully placed to allow moments of calm before entering more emotionally significant areas. The architectural language is measured and tranquil, supporting both ceremony and contemplation.

REGIONAL AWARD FOR COMMERCIAL INTERIORS AND FITOUTS
The judges said: This interior fitout offers a moving architectural expression of stillness, reflection, and dignity. A seamless flow of spatial lines and material continuity guides both the eye and the emotional journey of visitors, creating a calm and contemplative
atmosphere. The space fosters tranquillity through rhythm, symmetry, and soft tonal variation, drawing individuals into a state of quiet recollection. The intervention enhances the existing building’s functionality while maintaining a deep sensitivity to its ceremonial purpose. This is a project of quiet power, demonstrating how interior architecture can support both practical needs and profound emotional experiences.

REGIONAL AWARD FOR RESENE COLOUR IN DESIGN
The judges said: The soft exterior palette- off-white, warm sand beige, and a hint of golden yellow on the arches, honours the building’s iconic architecture. Inside, a serene, minimalist scheme creates a peaceful atmosphere that lets the architectural details truly shine.

We have been with St Brigid's Church in Pahiatua on a beautiful journey of renewal since 2013. Together with the Parish committee, we've worked to upgrade the facilities, add a meeting room and create a more welcoming entrance, —all while preserving the visual connection to the Nave.

It’s been a joy to be part of this transformation, and we’re so proud of the wonderful result. The Church is now ready to host many, many years of Masses and gatherings to come.

This reroofing project is nearing completion — the scaffold and protective tent are scheduled to come down any day now.

The scaffold has provided a safe environment for the work to be carried out, while the tent has ensured a consistently dry site, allowing progress to continue uninterrupted.

We’ve also appreciated the opportunity to get up close and admire the exceptional workmanship of the contractors. This was no ordinary roof — with its many angles and directional changes, it presented a complex challenge.

We spent hours detailing some very technical intersections, and it’s been fantastic to see those details executed so faithfully.

We’re especially grateful to our wonderful clients for their trust and confidence in us throughout the project — it’s been a privilege to work alongside you.

Congratulations to the entire project team — we can’t wait to see the finished result once the tent and scaff are down.

This season has been a roller coaster ride for us on the sidelines.

We have loved being part of the Property Brokers Jets Whanau and yesterdays final game was heart breaking to watch but you all gave it 100% on court and from the bench.

Thanks for having us Property Brokers Jets. Enjoy the break and we hope to see many of you back at the hangar wearing Green again.

After missing out on meeting Tinashe Matambanadzo last week, Helen finally got to the game on Sunday against the Rams.

What a fantastic game it was, with a win of 92 - 86 to Property Brokers Jets. Lots of fun and excitement and Helen finally got to meet Tinashe after the game.

Well done team! What an Awesome Game!
