✨ Feature Highlight: Spacer Bar ✨

A major feature of all double glazing units is the spacer bar.

But why is this important?

The spacer bar keeps the 2 panes of glass separate from each other making it harder for cold and heat to travel from the outside in and vice versa. The wider the spacer bar, the more thermally efficient the unit becomes. We also have thermal spacers available which increase thermal efficiency by 5% and come free with all Low-E purchases.

What sets the Thermawood system apart from everyone else doing retrofit to timber?

Moisture is always going to find a way in, it’s when it can’t find its way out that you get damp sills and rotten windows.

Thermawood has developed a patented drainage adaptor designed to solve this very problem. Every 100mm there is a drainage slot in the adaptor at the bottom of the glass, this alongside a 15 degree angle allows moisture to drain away, preserving the life of your sashes for years to come.

We may be double glazing experts, but we don’t just change your glass. We also restore your joinery to its original working condition, but sometimes the rot is too bad and that is just not possible.

At this job we had to replace the sash due to rot, but we had it custom made to suit the customers joinery style and over all aesthetic. Once it’s painted, you’d never know the difference 😁
