Today one of my customer back garden that is a slide hill I planted next to the retaining wall 20 escallonia plants. The goal is growing a hedge.
Escalloniais an evergreen shrub. It has a different variates. This ones has a pinky flowers. It is a hardy shrub that is good to plant coastal areas. You can grow hedge from them but you xan grow shrubs and after you can trim back and shape them.
First I cleaned the planting area, weeding. I use compost mix to plant rhe shrubs helping them settle down. Here in Kapiti mostly we have sandy soil.
