During the COVID-19 period, widespread semiconductor shortages forced many manufacturers to redesign the electronics within their products, as many common chips and integrated circuits either became unavailable or prohibitively expensive.

In preparation for potential future disruptions — particularly those caused by geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere — we are currently securing a three-year supply of the key semiconductors used in our Parabeam systems. This will help ensure uninterrupted operations, especially as fuel is an ever-increasing target for theives operating in rural areas.

Parabeam is relocating back to the Manawatu — the region where the first system was invented more than 23 years ago!

Due to the time required to complete the move and set up production, we will not be building any new systems until around mid-June.

Once set up we will be able to service older Parabeam systems in the district, including the many units originally installed by the late Maxim Perigo, who sadly passed away a few years ago. Many of these systems would likely benefit from some TLC.

Many Parabeam clients run operations such as plant nurseries, landscaping supply companies and vineyards. A loud outdoor beeper can make all the difference when there's a need to alert staff to the arrival of a visitor or customer. This clip shows a Parabeam base receiver with a power injector operating a waterproof outdoor sounder than can be heard over a large area. Other options are text messaging and long range pagers

Recent project.
Owner doesnt want to be woken up when other residents enter or leave the property through a remote controlled gate. This module senses when the gate is opening and silences all of the security beams for 2 minutes, allowing legitimate residents to enter and leave with tripping security beams. Prototype worked first pop on the bench, but does it work in situ?

A set of wireless, solar-powered traffic lights going out to a property in the Waikato. The client has a long, narrow, winding driveway that is only wide enough for one vehicle to travel along it at a time. It takes 3 minutes to travel from one end of the driveway to the other, leading to big problems when another car is heading your way - one of you will have to reverse, sometimes in the dark. This system has a set of beams and lights near the road entrance and another set of beams and lights at the "top" of the drive. Radio communications between the two "ends" is around 400m in a direct line. This system will be installed by a Waikato Electrician
