Spring is flourishing at Korimako Reserve as we draw ever closer to summer.

The Black Peach is laden with fruit, the grapes are starting to form on the vines, the raspberries and currants are looking promising and there’s a tonne of planting to do.

What a great time of year, with the energy of new life and abundance rising!

IN A TIME OF DESTRUCTION CREATE LIFE!
There is only one response to COP26 and that is to do what our governments and all the other big noises at the Glasgow summit will never do…Plant woodlands everywhere!
3 trees with under planting makes a mini woodland and habitat for wildlife…start small and build!
And if you don’t have a garden then pester the local council until they give in!
You are more determined and resilient than any politician because you are fired with passion to make this happen!

Even with a small plot of land we can grow so much of our own food!

I went up to check on the girls because they hadn’t come down for their nightly feed of hay … normally they’re at the gate calling me to hurry up. I wasn’t going to bother them as they are so close to birthing but just wanted to make sure they were ok.

I thought I could sneak up and not disturb them but as soon as they spotted me they came over and headed down the hill with me.

Lucy is so close … her udder has doubled in size over the last 24 hours that I’m expecting lambs in the next day or 2.

Quality not good on the video sorry.

Another delightful valley day.
Getting some work done and spending time with a cuppa observing and planning.

Today’s goal is to make progress on our pagola so we can lift the grape vine out of the quagmire of calendula and lavender.
