4th of September. It's been 13 years, Canterbury.

13 years since the start of the Darfield earthquake sequence. What a long journey it's been - and for many it still continues. This anniversary will mean different things to each of us.

Anniversaries can be sobering, but they are also a reminder of the incredible region we live in. People stepped up and went above and beyond for their communities.

Everyday heroes showed their kindness, perseverance and community spirit during this time and we'd love to hear the stories. It's good for all of us to be reminded. Feel free to comment below so we can celebrate these people together.

Whatever today means to you, show yourself some extra aroha and kindness. ❤️Kia Kaha Canterbury!

Jo Upston for completing 14 NZQA standard in 8 months for level 3 arboriculture leaving 2 unit standards to complete level 3
