3 HOUSES ON A HILL - NELSON, NEW ZEALAND
The project involves the design of 3 houses on a privileged site on a 33º slope and at the same time, 20º from bottom to top of the road. As the premise was to keep the earthworks to a minimum, so the garage is located at street level, using concrete blocks as retaining wall and the main house is built over piles. This also ensures that each house enjoy amazing views of the hills around.
The houses design was kept simple and very functional, having a central open living space fully opening to a part covered deck and 2 bedroom wings, one for the master bedroom/ensuite and the second with 2 bedrooms for the kids or optional office, all in just 114m2.
