Finally finished rose pruning for winter 2025!

These photos are of "wedding day" the most vigorous rambling rose I have ever pruned. At first glance, you would swear it has never been pruned before. Took me just over three and a half hours to prune this beast.

This is one of the few jobs I have remembered to get a before AND after picture on this year... it was also the first job Jayden MacDonald and I did this year.

Removal of large poplar tree growing over house, rig the branches down safely, mulch the branches, remove the firewood and mulch as requested. Job tidy.

Here is a brief walk through of the biggest urban planting job I have ever done. Soon to be Kainga Ora housing. Great selection of big trees in this planting- Puriri, Rewarewa, Ribbon wood, Kowhai, Lancewood etc. A real privilege to get to plant such a large array of native species

Same patch of garden as previous video, 3 months later. The roses are in full bloom and garden is looking shipshape ready for the upcoming Manawatu garden show. The giant glasshouse project is complete!
It started off as simply assembling a big glasshouse and escalated to a concrete footpath in the center with a raised bed on the northern side and a shelf for plants and storage on the southern side. Polythene and washed stones around the outside to keep it low maintenance and finally an "upcycled" fence and gateway to keep the sheep out. Look forward to seeing how this glasshouse is utilized in years to come.
