🌿Volunteer Gift💚

Andrew and the awesome team at Goughs Nurseries have kindly donated a native plant to go in every Volunteer Gift Pack – how cool it that?
Very cool indeed!

The native plants are currently growing in their Swannanoa nursery and will be ready for race day.

Massive thank you to Andrew and the team. 😊

First cab off the rank for our autumn '24 restoration planting jobs - this one is a 500 native plant order for Banks Peninsula - ready for delivery. This project is in its 3rd year and is overseen by our resident ecologist Sue McGaw. This site posed many challenges and will be featured in an upcoming blog on the nursery website.

Our autumn planting projects are about to kick off now the ground is damper - been too dry of late so we're a month behind before we even start! If you're about to start your project and you haven't pre-bought your plants be aware we had to put our prices up by $1 per plant. We're now $9/plant when purchasing 20 or more. Mention this post and pay the old price - for a limited time only.

On the admin side of things - for spreadsheet users, we've added an Export feature to the My List facility on our web site for those ordering for larger planting projects. https://www.goughsnurseries.co.nz/plants

A new website feature - you can now save your own plant list on the website (no login required). Your 'My List' of plants stays on your device until you clear it - the list can also be 'shared' and 'printed' from your mobile phone. Prior to visiting the nursery review our plants catalogue on your phone, 'add' the plants you're interested to 'My List' and present when next visiting the nursery - no need to write down a shopping list of Latin plant names... visit https://www.goughsnurseries.co.nz/plants

Just a quick note to advise nursery developments since last post. We've moved to the property next door. We're now located at 1033 Tram Rd (no signage - very discrete), down a shared driveway - we've yet to open our own entrance, so please be aware that my neighbours have shown me great leniency until we sort that issue out. Setting up a nursery on a new site is taking some time - but we're getting there. We're still pumping out plants for our retail clients - but we've also expanded in to contract growing natives for our rural clients - and we've made a bit of a name for ourselves in the process. Check out Sarah Perriam's podcast chat with our onsite biodiversity consultant Sue McGaw https://pod.co/sarahs-country/sue-mcgaw
