Current project showcase:

Utilizing insulated roof & wall panels for the existing / re-build portion of these Alterations. Along with Japanese 'Shou Sugi Ban' charred timber feature cladding and concrete facade rainscreen over the road frontage and rear section wall panels with full height raking window joinery. External (outside the build line) sliding door(s) with custom solar / privacy screens.

The goal is to achieve a Japanese inspired monolithic form, rising up from the ground using raw material selections that would stand up the coastal site environment.

Large scale Residential 'fully bespoke' Two storied New Build now underway... Situated in stunning Maketu (WBOP) for a truly lifelong client / now good friend.

Site preparation / building platform works now underway in accordance with the required Geotechnical Report. Scrapping of top soil / loose fill excavated, now building up the certified compacted base course layers to achieve the proposed Ground Floor level.

My client has been heavy involved in researching building systems, materials and suppliers throughout the Design & Detailing stages of the design process to achieve a warm / solid home that will easily meet and surpass the 50 year NZ building life span requirements.

All Ground & First Floor external & internal walls will be constructed from Stellaria Porotherm Block with paint impregnated render throughout.

The simple new way for truss, stud and top plate connections!

The Simpson Strong-Tie SDWC Truss Screw provides a truss and rafter-to-top plate connection as well as a method to fasten studs to top or bottom plates. The fully-threaded shank engages the entire length of the fastener providing a secure connection.
