Creative Kitchens & Interiors

Creative Kitchens & Interiors Your official Most Trusted Joinery Manufacturer for premium bespoke furniture and kitchens throughout New Zealand.

Since 1984, two values have walked hand in hand at Creative Kitchens & Interiors, quality and customer experience. Our approach is really simple, produce the best quality joinery we can and deliver beyond the customer expectations. Sean and the team value greatly each and every client. Everybody who engages Creative Kitchens & Interiors become more than just customers, they’re not just a job numbe

r on a drawing, they become friends, part of the family. What we never do is underestimate the power of our customers that is why, because of them, we have been voted Most Trusted Joinery Manufacturers for the last 4 years. From the moment the customer comes through the door, they’re escorted through the factory and personally shown how we operate and introduced to the team. What better place to demonstrate the workings of a company than showing them the coal face? You can have a flash showroom and comfy seats but that doesn’t reflect the passion of the team on the shop floor. Without passion and care, you don’t get the best results. The customer may not have engaged us yet, but this initial introduction forms the foundation to the relationship. That face-to-face interaction with a team of people who care about your experience. It is important to us that the clients understand our traditional manufacturing processes, remember, everything we make is done by hand, by qualified tradesman. No CNC machines here, we’re keeping tradition alive and we’re proud of that approach. Thomas Chippendale didn’t have a CNC machine did he? Don’t be fooled by the imitations in the market, if you are going to commission a piece of furniture, a kitchen, vanity or wardrobe, why not have one that is made correctly and with passion by a team of people who care more about its clients.

Giving blind New Zealanders a way to feel their country

I wanted to share a project that has been incredibly meaningful to both myself and Sean.

A couple of years ago, a simple question — “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if blind people could feel where they live?” — sparked an idea that we felt passionate about and were excited to bring to fruition.
From that moment, I set out to explore how people who are blind or vision-impaired could physically experience the shape of New Zealand — tracing the mountains, following the coastline, and connecting with the land through touch.

As a producer with Halo Productions, bringing ideas like this to life, taking something from concept through to delivery, is very much at the heart of what I do.
That journey led me to the talented team at Tides Out Maps, who create beautifully detailed, layered wooden maps of New Zealand. Together, we were able to secure one of their large prototype maps to bring this concept to life.

Sean then played a significant role in transforming it into something truly accessible. Through his craftsmanship at Creative Kitchens & Interiors, he designed and built the custom backing board and easel, carefully mounting the map to create strong contrast for those with low vision, while preserving the tactile experience for blind users.
Braille labels were added to key locations, allowing the map to be explored independently through touch.

The completed map has now been donated and installed at Blind Low Vision NZ Tauranga, where people can experience the geography of New Zealand in a way that simply hasn’t been possible before.
As a team, we’re proud to have brought this idea to life and contributed something meaningful to the community.

We also see this as something much bigger — a concept that could be replicated across New Zealand, allowing blind and low-vision communities nationwide to gain a true understanding of their land through touch.
Sometimes the simplest ideas can grow into something truly special.

Not only do we get to work in some incredible locations and homes like this one in Piha, we also get to be part of the clients journey. This one is special because again, Scottie and Jenene put their trust in us to design and build another kitchen for them in their new home called .
Working closely with Jenene and her designer was a complete please. The brief, compliment the outdoor scenery, make it functional, practical and beautiful. American White Oak cabinets, leathered Acropolis granite tops, traditional fluted glass and Blum hardware. Did we meet the brief? Damn right we did. Special thank you to for the photography and more importantly for your support again. Check it out, www.thelouises.com

Over 2yrs in the making due to site delays, we finally got to finish this amazing project. Kitchen, scullery, laundry, mud room, bar, storage & 5 vanities for a beautiful couple. Although we didn’t design this & there’s a few things the clients & ourselves would have changed, the end result is outstanding. It’s projects & clients like this that keeps us at the top of the Most Trusted Joinery Manufacturers league for 8yrs running.

As the year comes to a welcoming end, we just finished the last kitchen & scullery for 2025. This one is for a repeat client in Aongatete here in the BOP. More photos will follow but the end result is fantastic and as always, something we’re very proud of. A busy family needs space to move around with plenty of storage and this certainly delivers.

I felt compelled to share this project, which our company has been asked to rectify.

The photos depict a kitchen reface undertaken by a prominent kitchen company in Tauranga, which I will not name. If this represents their standard of quality workmanship, I am confident in our abilities.

The clients invested over $12,000 in the project, which included new drawers and handles. However, several issues are evident:
The drawers are not level.
There are no clearance gaps between the panels.
The alignment is off.
The edge tape has not been cleaned up.
Two doors are bowed.

Despite five return visits, the company has failed to address these problems. The client has lost patience and has decided to have the work redone to the correct standards.

I have two observations: from a professional standpoint,
It’s concerning that the company would leave a job knowing it was of poor quality.
It highlights that the cheapest option is often not the best, as factors such as skill set, reputation, and professionalism should take precedence over cost.

We are currently in the process of remanufacturing the panels, doors, and drawers to deliver the quality outcome the client originally expected.
