These 3 filters came from one of our 20" Jumbo systems. These are 6 months old, and see how much work they have done in this time! These were left a little bit too long which saw water pressure to the house drop, and also risked back pressure. This can be dangerous because it puts pressure on the housings which could see them crack and aside from flooding a basement, garage or shed, could see the owner lose their water! Also, think of the amount of bacteria starting to accumulate in these, and they are simply not doing their job anymore. This customer had UV, so there was protection there, but the UV may not be able to do it's job properly if particles are getting through because the filters are too clogged to do their job.
So loads of issues when filters are not changed regularly enough. For this particular customer, they need to be changed a bit more regularly.
Pretty impressive contaminant removal though - right?

An easy way to get into a good routine with changing your filters is to check them at the beginning of each new season. Pop a reminder in your phone.
If they don't look like this picture, and your pressure hasn't dropped, and there are no odours or bad tastes in your water, then chances are you can get through to the next 3 months.
But we strongly recommend a change at 6 months. Why? Because even if they aren't that dirty looking, there will start to be bacterial build up and not all dirt and debris shows up as colourful as this picture. But it will be there.
This will affect pressure at the tap, put back pressure on your equipment, and most of all, could be affecting your health.
We have an Automatic Reorder system which you can select when you purchase your filters. If you purchase at 6 month intervals you get $5 off each filter and this also applies to UV lamps.

From $105 incl GST (plus installation usually around $500-600) for Whole House Filter Housing and Carbon Filter vs $1800 for new hot water cylinder!! Hmmmm

Christchurch. Thank you for your hospitality and what a lovely bunch of people With such positive attitudes. It has been such a pleasure exhibiting at the Canterbury Home Show this weekend. It is the most enjoyable exhibition we have done, we really enjoyed talking to you all.

It's a shame this is happening. It's like taking a pill to fix one disease and it's side effects create another disease. It's a pity rather than chlorinating the heck out of the water the Councils didn't consider paying for individual filtration and UV systems. At least it would clean and sterilise the water, without need for chemicals. Better for humans, animals, discharge waste and appliances. They say they can't afford upgrading water plants etc and chlorination is the cheapest way. A whole house system from us with UV for a large house costs less than $1100 retail and it could give each house self sufficiency.

A whole house filter system with UV will:

1. Remove the sediment
2. Remove the chlorine up to 99%
3. Sterilise the water (not actually needed with chlorinated water as that's the purpose of chlorine)

Step 3 can be added later too if they take the chlorine out of the water.
