🎄✨ Addressing the Buzz about Our Christmas Tree at Waihī Beach! 🌟
We've heard the chatter and concerns circulating around our new real life Christmas tree, and we're here to shed some light on the change! This year, we've opted for something different – a stunning Norfolk pine gracing Seaforth Road (on the Seaforth/Wilson Rd Corner) as our sustainable holiday symbol. 🌲🌟
The decision to bid farewell to our trusty synthetic tree wasn't an easy one. Over the years, the weather took its toll on the tree, rusting the frame, weathering the leaves to a point where they were disintegrating, and even stripping the baubles of their metallic paint 😔
But it wasn't just about wear and tear and looking worse for wear; it reached a point where the tree became a health and safety risk. We couldn't continue with it in such a condition. It's heartbreaking because a dedicated team of volunteers devoted over 10 hours each year just to install the old tree. We're all incredibly saddened that it had to be retired. 💔
Replacing it wasn't a walk in the park either. New synthetic trees take a significant amount of time to order, ship, and arrive, not to mention the unexpectedly high costs involved - as the most cost effective options are often located overseas. In the spirit of sustainability and practicality, we embraced this majestic Norfolk pine, which we have adorned with twinkling lights. 🎅✨
So, while change can be tough, this locally-rooted alternative ensures we continue spreading holiday cheer sustainably and cost-effectively. Join us in celebrating this new tradition that lights up Waihī Beach with warmth and joy every night from 7 PM to 10 PM! 🎄✨
