I teamed up with local builder / man of many talents, Mark Robbie, to landscape and plant out 2 banks at Bill and Julie Fitzgerald's.
We used coir matting as a w**d suppressant and bank stabiliser, as seen on many of the motorway plantings.

The native trees in these photos were grown by the Station House Nursery from seed gathered at Cascade Creek Retreat in 2014 & 2015.
These trees include Totara,Kahikatea,Kowhai and Lancewood. It was great to finally see them off on their journey home to be planted where they belong. Another load will go out next week.
Hats off to David and Janine Divers of Cascade Creek Retreat, who are both passionate about planting eco-sourced trees to increase the Birdlife on their property.
Note: eco-sourcing is the principle of ensuring that restoration plantings make use of native seeds sourced from the surrounding area.

RED TUSSOCKS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SPRING PLANTING!!!
Add that WOW factor to your garden and plant en masse. Alternatively, just a few can look equally as stunning when planted around a sculpture, or to soften a garden shed or gate.
Red tussocks are also a great wildlife habitat for around ponds, and will grow in wet situations or dry.

It was nice to see more native trees being planted in our area on Wednesday.
The Station House Nursery team (Sharon, Hazel & Billy) donated a morning of their time to help Goldfields Kindergarten plant their Native Forest area.
We are looking forward to watching the forest develop over time, and start feeding our native wildlife.
