SPRING: Mildew start!
Now is the time to prevent Powdery Mildew.
The spores of Mildew has been dormant during the winter, when the night temp exceeds 12-13degC (55F) they are ready to germinate , the requirement for germinating those spores is =13degC (55F) night-time and rain, after this initial start the new spores will germinate wet or dry as long it not getting to hot above 34C (90F)
So NOW it's time to get in, sulphur, horticultural oils are the best for garden use, just follow the recommendation on the pack , oils should be at 2% (DO NOT TRY TO USE SULPHUR AND OIL TOGETHER) a 14 night between is required or it will burn as well as using Sulphur with temp over 25C (77F)
Oils need to be dry before nightfall. “photo toxicity” ( the word is phytotoxicity, but in this case it related to light so I choose to use photo-toxicity) Good air-movement is important.
start 60-80 F
