Hi Everyone

Garden Club meets this Thursday 26th October at 7.30pm in the Presbyterian Church Hall.

Our Speaker is Arne Cleland on Natives, Design and More.

Also up for discussion is our planned trip to Jo Wakelin's garden on the 18th November, plus another delightful garden in Pisa Moorings and how we configure the rest of the day.

Our Speaker this Thursday August 24th is Jo Wakelin Horticulturist who has created a Climate Resilient Garden between Wanaka and Cromwell
Jo will talk about her extraordinary garden she has created on stony ground that receives zero water!
Come and listen to this passionate,environmentally conscious, ex lecturer at Otago Polytechnic Cromwell for over 3 decades and skilled gardener share her knowledge and slides , you will not be disappointed

Visitors most welcome, sales table, raffles and a light supper provided.

Our next meeting for Garden Club is going to be on Thursday 27 July at the Presbyterian Church Hall in Tenby street at 12.00. Midday.
Beginning with our Guest speaker, Lisa Graig, of 'Lisafdesign.'
Lisa is a local Textile Designer who designs knitwear patterns, Tapestry weaver and a Creative Entrepreneur taking her inspiration from her Garden.
Lisa has achieved international acclaim with her outstanding exquisite designs, marketing successfully world wide from here in Wanaka. So if you like to knit or just appreciate a beautiful sustainable product produced here in Central Otago, come along. Lisa will have her designs, Merino wool and Buttons on display and available for purchase.

Following we will have a cup of soup and a bread roll available to share.
Please RSVP to Garden club by 24th July, so we can order the bread rolls.
Cost is $5.00- members
Visitors are welcome - $10.00
Look forward to catching up with lots of you.

Kumara is a crop we usually get from the Market down here in the south. Kumara is not related to the Potato family, although we often think of them as similar. But rather the Convolvulous family. The young leaves can be picked and eaten in a salad.
