Finalist. 💥Interior of the Year Awards 2026.

We are super stoked to announce that the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Restoration has been selected as a finalist in the Home of Architecture - Interior of the Year Awards 2026. 🥳

Our restoration has been recognised in this year's programme, celebrating the strength and uniqueness of interior architecture and design across Aotearoa.

What began as earthquake strengthening in 2018 evolved into a six-year journey of renewal for this Category I Heritage building. The reimagined interiors are calm, prayerful spaces, returning the focus to the building's essential spiritual character.
We're proud to have played a part in bringing Wellington's Catholic heart back to life.
