One of my sons helped me w**d then add compost and pea straw to my no-dig vege patch today 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Was generously given a bunch of seedlings yesterday from good friends so planted lettuce, spinach, kale and tomato 🥬🍅 Will plant the rest over the week.

Carrots are growing from last year's plants that I let go to seed 🥕🥕🥕

Sage lives in another patch and was a cutting given to me a year or two ago also from - it looks so pretty flowering I had to take a pic of it too 🌸

After a long time of neglect, some of the vege gardens had a makeover and almost everything was taken out. There'll be plenty of calendula and nasturtium seeds lurking 🏵

Added compost and covered in pea straw. Made labels based on the seeds I already had 🎨

Haven't grown my own seedlings this year but ended up planting corn, tomatoes, zucchini, watermelon, cucumber, and lettuce seeds straight into the ground. Not going to expect too much but you never know 🌱

Will source seedlings from friends n family so we're covered either way 😊

Kale is pumping 🤩

The green kale plant is doing especially well amongst the mint, nasturtium 🏵 and comfrey.

There's corn 🌽 lettuce 🥬 and cucumber 🥒 living there too and they all seem to be happy in that spot 😊
