I just spent 1.5 days at a ventilation and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) conference - it was like watching paint dry. To summarise! A garage attached to your house is bad news unless you enjoy the pollutants that pour into your home every time you turn your car on. The only option is to get a bike or an electric car! We all must have working mechanical ventilation units in our bathrooms and kitchens and they should be left to run long after you would normally have them on for. We breath 15 litres of air a day and it comes out warm and wet - we need to ventilate our homes as often as we can! Then insulate, insulate, insulate! We basically can't put enough of it in our homes! Use products that are formaldehyde free! Then heat, heat heat (if you can afford it). Heat all the living rooms and bedrooms to 18 degrees and over! Heat pumps are the best followed by closed box fires. Never use unflued gas appliances or dry clothes inside! If you have mould you are not doing the above enough or properly! There, i have just gifted you 1.5 days of my life!
