It was great working with our clients and to deliver this recently completed suburban Wellington renovation incorporating contemporary family living within a 1920's Wellington bungalow.

Key parts of the brief included increasing natural light, additional office space, flexible indoor-outdoor dining space and a master bedroom with a private upper courtyard. The result is a home connected to the outdoors in both communal and private spaces. New skylights breathe fresh light and life into the heart of the home. There, a modern kitchen creates a central hub between living and entertaining spaces with a contemporary staircase and bar below adding stylish functionality. From the street, the original gabled form of the house is mirrored in a new garage which comfortably integrates it into its neighbourhood.

Located in the Mount Victoria heritage area, the key aspects of this project for our clients were to retain and enhance the timeless character of their 19th century home while also making the spaces work better for how they wanted to live in the house.

The recent renovation involved a major reconstruction of the interior carefully working with the original character stair, window and cornice details. To the street front new window joinery in keeping with the original design from 1897 has restored and reinvigorated the façade, while out the back the pergola and central courtyard has been enhanced with period details and joinery. This fantastic result for our clients has ensured their home's past has been respected and ensured its longevity for decades to come.

This project was achieved with the support of our amazing clients, Western Builders, AS Design, Spencer Holmes and Clendon Burns and Park.

Throwback Thursday to warmer weather when we visited the Lightbox construction site in Auckland last summer.

It was exciting to see these boutique, contemporary townhouses each with a stunning central courtyard and Japanese Maple coming to life and to hear from Templeton Chairman Nigel McKenna.

We're super excited that this project with our partners at Templeton Group is now nearing completion.

It was great to have the team on site to check out one of our latest projects with our partners at GibbonsCo.

The new Telsa site is located at the gateway to Wellington on the prominent Malvern Road site where LV Martin used to be and features a showroom, multiple EV charging stations, service centre, delivery lounge, parts warehouse and offices and comes in at over 3000sq m!

With signage going up the final touches are being made so you'll be able to see this new showroom in action in the coming weeks!

We are excited to see work start on site in Island Bay for our latest project with our partners Watson Group.

Replacing what used to be the earthquake prone Mersey Street Store will soon be a boutique residential and retail development with seven luxurious apartments and two vibrant commercial spaces.

The Bay is an elegant, boutique, architectural building that respects its community, surroundings and local history. Its design is timeless and contemporary referencing the form of the nearby Art Deco Empire cinema, and the marine heritage of Island Bay.

We're excited and proud to be working with our partners at Watson Group to deliver the Wellington Health Centre. Located near the Basin Reserve on Adelaide Rd this purpose built facility promises to be a game changer for Wellington. It will be the home of He Ringa Āwhina Wellington Regional Charity Hospital, but more than that will be a hub for the community where healthcare professionals can collaborate and offer specialist services.

A huge night for the team on Friday as our project for Higgins Family Holdings in Palmerston North took out the top award for Commercial Architecture at the NZIA Western Awards.

The design utilises and showcases the positive attributes of concrete, combining it with glulam technology to deliver an energy-efficient structure stunning internal spaces strongly connected to the natural environment.

Huge congratulations to the whole team involved with this project, and especially to the client whose vision was to provide an exemplary work environment for their team, and to deliver a striking building which would set a precedent for this developing area and the wider community, both architecturally and in environmental performance.
