Glassman & Locksmith will be closed this Friday (14th November) as our team comes together with whānau to honour, celebrate and farewell Cassies beloved mum, Loris Hastie - our matriarch, and a proud shareholder/business owner alongside us.

Loris helped shape who we are, as people and as a business.

HASTIE, Loris Shirley (Aunty).

On Sunday, the 9th of November 2025 passed away, surrounded by family, aged 63.
Adored wife of Nigel Hastie. Beloved mother of Cassandra and Kiel and Bradley and Charlotte. Cherished nanny Loris of Leila and Abel.

She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life for Loris will be held at the Whakatane Baptist Church, 67 Keepa Road, Whakatane at 10:30am on Friday 14th of November followed by a private cremation.

Please dress as Loris would expect you, colour is encouraged.

In lieu of Flowers, please consider donations to The Whakatane Kiwi Trust.

Two years ago today — 2nd October 2023 — was a milestone for us. That’s the day we (Kiel Battock & Cassie Hastie) proudly took over Glassman & Locksmith from Dallas & Charmaine Hands after their incredible 21-year journey.

Since then, we’ve grown, laughed, learned, and faced challenges head-on — but none of it would have been possible without our amazing customers, community, suppliers, and team. 🫶

To Dallas & Charmaine: thank you for trusting us to carry on the legacy you built. To everyone who has supported us, recommended us, or chosen us for glazing, locksmithing, windscreen replacements and chip repairs, the list goes on — thank you for helping us grow.
